Well, do they?
I’ve seen alot of hype about them, but do pro golfers choose to use them? or are they not allowed?
I have seen some pros use them. Don’t forget, hybrids were created for those of us who cannot hit long irons and cannot really hit fairway woods. The pros are Pros because generally they can do both. So its not as necessary for them to use one.
I have seen it more on the LPGA and Champions tour and some on the Nationwide Tour, than the PGA Tour. Probably because the PGA Tour guys who you see on TV are generally longer hitters, and dont need to use them.

I have a 5/27 degree club. What does that mean, and when would I use it?
I am a new golfer, and I don’t know where to use the 5/27 degree hybrid club. Take into consideration I am a female, so I don’t hit as far.
It has the same loft as a 5 iron. So use it from the same distance as your normal 5-iron.

I just received a set as a gift and don’t understand the markings on the bottom on the irons. Rather then numbers they seem to have symbols. How do they relate to a tradional set of irons? I like them but just need some help
thanks
s
Who cares ? take them to the range and hit them…hit 99% power, 75% power and 50% power, taking note of the distance…then on a small piece of tape write these numbers down and adhere to the shaft of this club just below the hozzle….refer to them during your game….

I have several hybrid Golf Clubs that were given to me and I want to know which one would be the 4 iron replacement?
The 4 hybrid? Both of my hybrids have numbers on them for which iron they replace.
here’s an approximation of loft for a typical 4 hybrid: 23-24 degrees
4 iron loft = about 24 degrees
these will vary among different brands.
The key with hybrids is to actually use them on the course or the range to make sure they actually cover the distance you need covered. It is near impossible to know with certainty how far they are going to go based on loft, length, shaft material and flex.
I use steel shafts in my hybrids so they more closely match the irons they are replacing. That way the length is similar so you don’t get extra distance because the shaft is longer. However, even accounting for that I still need to take a hybrid out and see what it actually does in flight.
I’m certain there are lots of people with huge yardage gaps between their 4h and 5i when the loft alone says it should be only about 10 yards different.
